I am currently a fourth grade teacher in my eighth year of teaching. I am passionate about my work as an educator. One of my favorite parts of my teaching career has been inspiring my students to love reading. Our read aloud time is our most loved time of the school day. It is my goal to encourage each learner to always do his/her best, as well as find what they are passionate about themselves.

I am a newer teacher going into my first year of teaching First Grade. I LOVE Early Childhood and had the rare opportunity to loop with my kindergarteners from last year. I also became an Inclusion teacher. As a result my classroom library needs to expand in both breadth and depth and it needs to add more nonfiction materials. Additionally, I have students in my class reading already at 4th grade levels and therefore need to provide extended materials for these voracious readers as well.

These children are full of energy, excited to learn, and are a diverse group of English Language Learners/English as Second Language Learners, and IEP students. Our full day Kindergarten class is at a Title 1 school. Our school is located in a poorer urban area of the state, with families underemployed with high unemployment and therefore high in poverty. The student population is 85% Hispanic, 7% African American, 3% Caucasian, and 2% Asian.

All students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students face challenges in their daily lives that many of us could not imagine, yet they come to school with positive attitudes and are eager to learn.

You're very welcome! My son is a kindergartener and he LOVES Fly Guy! I know your students will enjoy this series!

I also wanted to "pay it forward" for the support that I have been given for books in my own classroom.

Enjoy!
